Globalization & P2P Opportunities

Globalization is a fundamental expression of the evolution of human consciousness transcending the limitations of nations and peoples, in order to enter new dimensions involving our Self, our planet, and the whole human race.

"There's been a quantum leap of technologically in our age, but unless there's another quantum leap in human relations, unless we learn to live in a new way towards one another, there will be a catastrophe."
-- Albert Einstein

Access to this global marketplace for the Individual is the perhaps the greatest potential of a Information Age. Globalization will do more than expand markets and access to private commercial exchanges, through this medium we will also see in the realm of mind the expansion of consciousness of the highly developed individual emerging from isolation to unite with a global community of evolved individuals. In this process, the new communication technologies can be a boon.

At present a great number of people using the Internet cannot access the gloabl marketplace due to restrictions such as:
~ Lack of a credit Card to purchase online; ~ Not meeting the proper Age requirement; ~ Geographic nationality restrisctions; and ~ Competing currencies and legal systems. Globalization can be solution for indivudal poverty if commerce can be onducted extra-nationally, that is outside competing current national jusidictions; inside a private single jurisdiction where everyone has equal compensation, protection, and opportunity under a single law, and using a single form of commonly exchangeable currency.

"Everyone has a right to peaceful coexistence, the basic personal freedoms, the alleviation of suffering, and the opportunity to lead a productive life..."
-- Jimmy Carter

Information Age wealth created digitally via the modern media promotes the participation of a wider segment of humankind in the support system of goods and services. Diminishing of local poverty and reduction of transportation are some of the benefits of the information network.

It appears that evolution wants to unite many independent parts into a higher unified entity, less seperation and defining distinction by nationality, religion, or color; for now we can interact in anonymity as a free global community.

The community resulting from the globalisation process consists of complete parts whose particularities ensure the viability of the newly emerging organism. One of the obstacles of evolutionary development is the inability of the old consciousness to entirely grasp the importance of the new phenomena. In the current transformative process into the Information Age we are able to experience a higher consciousness resulting in a peaceful global community; in such a community the particular roles and functions of individuals will be defined by the individual based on their unique passions or contributions that have value to someone in the community.

Once you have a truly Global digital community, by global we mean outside any national government, the next question that inevitably comes up is who will Govern?

The Internet is considered by many to be the global infrastructure of the information society, the most critical piece of the economic, social and cultural foundation of our time. Internet governance has been on the international agenda for a relatively short time. In a very narrow sense, it has been around since ICANN was created in 1998; In a wider sense, international dialogue has been ongoing since 2003, when delegates to the first phase of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) concluded that Internet governance concerns a set of issues, including, but reaching beyond Internet names and numbers. Decisions taken around this wider set of issues can have important implications for P2P commerce and development.

The WSIS Working Group on Internet Governance developed this working definition of Internet governance, which was adopted by the WSIS governments in the Tunis Agenda (2005):

…the development and application by governments, the private sector and civil society, in their respective roles, of shared principles, norms, rules, decision-making procedures, and programmes that shape the evolution and use of the Internet.

This definition is helpful in that it enumerates the stakeholders and some of the challenges facing Internet governance; however, it provides no direction as to what a system, or a combination of systems, of Internet governance would require in order to be sustainable.

The Free Digital Universe, and it's component parts such as the Free Diogital Market exist to see if we can provide a win-win digital governance model for the new age. Our purpose is to provide tools for P2P commerce to function securely on a private, integrated commercial platform which belongs to it's users.

“The progress of freedom depends more upon the maintenance of peace, the spread of commerce, and the diffusion of education, than upon the labours of cabinets and foreign offices.”
-- Richard Cobden

"There has always been a longing in the human heart for a more just, free, loving and creative society. But it was never before possible to fulfill these aspirations, because we had neither the evolutionary drivers and global crises to force us to change, nor did we have the scientific and technological powers that can free us from the limitations of scarcity, poverty, disease, and ignorance. This is the time of awakening for the social potential movement."
-- Barbara Marx Hubbard

Creating a world that is truly fit for children does not imply simply the absence of war. It means having the confidence that our children would not die of measles or malaria. It means having access to clean water and proper sanitation. It means having primary schools nearby that educate children, free of charge. It means changing the world with children, ensuring their right to participate, and that their views are heard and considered. It means building a world fit for children, where every child can grow to adulthood in health, peace and dignity."
-- Carol Bellamy
